On Tuesday, the state released a list of 51 public high schools that are not
making adequate yearly progress in raising Connecticut Academic Performance
Test scores under the federal No Child Left Behind Act. The annual performance
test is given to high school sophomores. Some of the schools face sanctions
because they are making repeat appearances on the list; others are new to the
list and will not face sanctions for a year.
Of the schools cited Tuesday, those
that are new to the list are marked with an asterisk (*):

Seven schools made the list because
each school, as a whole, did not meet standards in both math and
reading (three last year):
