Hartford Education Collaborative

The Hartford Education Collaborative (HEC) and other key partners have created a website to explore the potential and role of a local education fund in Hartford. Local education funds (LEFs) are independent nonprofit organizations established to monitor, support and act as a catalyst for education reform and community involvement in education in
cities across the country—particularly in urban school systems. This Web site seeks to help decision makers build understanding of local and national issues relevant to the future of education in Hartford and the role(s) such an organization might play in the community, with the school system and in relation to other existing nonprofits.
