Angel Arce To Be Back On The Housing Authority

October 22, 2010

You might remember Angel Arce.

He’s the man who’s father was hit in a brutal hit-and-run accident that was filmed and played endlessly on national television.

He’s also the man forced off the board of the Hartford Housing Authority by then Mayor Eddie A. Perez as part of a series dueling allegations of corruption. No charges were ever brought. Now, it looks like new Mayor Pedro Segarra wants him back on the authority’s board. The board has two vacancies — one seat was vacated by former board Chairman Mark Ojakian when he moved out of Hartford. Segarra has named two replacement candidates to be voted on next week by the city council — Arce, and former city Councilwoman Marilyn Rossetti.

We spoke with Arce. He said he’s excited to be back on the board and to have a fresh start.
