The city this week lost two men who played prominent roles in Hartford in years gone by.
John L. Bonee a Republican city council member from 1951 to 1955 and a member of the Hartford Redevelopment Agency from 1955 to 1965 died Tuesday at the age of 89.
And on Thursday William J. Brown, the first director of the Greater Hartford Urban League, died yesterday. Brown, 93, came to Hartford from Indiana in 1964 and spent 20 years as the urban league's director.
Look for both gentlemen to be featured in the coming weeks in our "Extraordinary Life" feature that runs in the features section on Sundays.
