The state judge who led an 18-month investigation into allegations of corruption at city hall culminating with two arrests of Mayor Eddie A. Perez and the arrests of several others released his interim report Tuesday.
Superior Court Judge Dennis Eveleigh unsealed his January interim report following a recent decision of the state Supreme Court instructing him to do so. But the report itself, which was the backbone of Perez's arrest in January on bribery charges, provides few new details in the case.
Perez's January arrest was related to allegedly discounted work done on his home by city contractor Carlos Costa. Also arrested in January were Costa and former city employee Edward Lazu, for whom Costa also did home work. All have pleaded not guilty.
Perez was arrested again earlier this month on attempted extortion related charges. Eveleigh's report that led to that arrest remains sealed.
The interim report is found in the "Related Links" box, as is Eveleigh's order unsealing it.
