Andrea Comer has joined the growing list of candidates for city council.
Comer, who is currently coordinating the Hartford Police Department's Weed and Seed program, has been in and around city goverment for years in a variety of positions.
Comer, a former editor and reporter at The Courant, has served as the press secretary to disgraced former Mayor Eddie Perez, worked in the Health and Human Services Dept. and served on the Hartford Board of Education.
She is also past president of the Greater Hartford African American Alliance and worked for New Haven Mayor John DeStefano.
Comer, who lives in the city's 4th district, also made an unsuccessful run for council in 2007.
