Hartford Republican Town Committee Chairman Mike McGarry says that someone has approached outgoing Superintendent of Schools Steven Adamowski to run for city council on the GOP ticket.
McGarry, who was at city hall for Mayor Pedro Segarra's budget press conference, said that he has not spoken to Adamowski personally about the idea and that in his position he must remain neutral.
But he added that an Adamowski run would be a "game changer."
Adamowski has led a so-far successful reform of city schools during his five-years on the job, is stepping down in June.
