Segarra, Kennedy Appointed To School Building Committee

The city council last night voted in favor of appointing Mayor Pedro Segarra and Councilman Kenneth Kennedy, who is chair of the panel's operations, management and budget committee, to the city's school building committee.

"There's good dollars and cents reasons for being on this committee," Segarra said today. In short, he said, he wants to review several city projects to see where he can find savings on construction costs. The mayor said he also wants "greater transparency in what we're spending."
