Hartford's Back9Network, a startup golf lifestyle network, said that soon it will have three locations in the Capitol City as it wraps up construction on its new corporate headquarters.
The 13,000-square-foot headquarters takes up the entire 10th floor of the Phoenix Building at One American Row.
Construction quietly began at the "boat building" in the fourth quarter of 2012 and, while some employees have already moved in, everything is expected to be completed by late March. "In 2012, we put into place the personnel and established the infrastructure to position us for success," said the network's founder and chief executive, James Bosworth, in a statement.
The new space — offices and digital production areas — is in addition to the company's existing offices on Lewis Street and planned studios in Constitution Plaza.
The reception area features a putting green and "simulator area," according to floor plans, as well as offices for a handful of employees and at least seven executives. The floor also has a collaboration zone, a slew of conference rooms and a lounge with views of downtown Hartford.
In addition to office space, the company said that the headquarters will have 15 filming locations.
The television network and media company on Tuesday also announced a partnership with USA Today Sports that will give Back9Network's coverage wider exposure. The agreement gives the two media companies rights to use each other's content.
Bosworth said that the agreement would give USA Today's "visitors a taste of our character-driven content and distinct perspective on golf's incredible influence on culture and life."
