The city has awarded more than $1 million to 23 local artists and organizations as part of its arts stimulus program.
The money comes from the city, which is also awaiting another $600,000 in federal funds to be used for the program. The recipients were chosen by a 10-member panel and the money will be administered by the Greater Hartford Arts Council.
The recipients are:
• A rtists Collective, arts festival and jazz series, $61,065.
• Asylum Hill Congregational Church, concert series, $10,000.
• Billings Forge Community Works, galleries, $54,150.
• Charter Oak Cultural Center, youth arts institute, $100,000.
