Hartford City Council Meeting

There are 39 items on the regular agenda.The Council meeting will begin at 8 P. M. at Hartford City Hall in Council Chambers and will be televised live on Hartford Public Access, Channel 21.

Elizabeth Park Alcohol Waiver – On the recommendation of Council member Eugenio Caro, the Council will vote on a resolution allowing the Pond House in Elizabeth Park to serve alcohol along with its food service.(Item #38)

National Theatre of the Deaf – on the recommendation of Mayor Michael Peters, the Council will vote on a resolution to provide the National Theatre of the Deaf with a loan of $100,000 from Urban Development Action Grant funds (UDAG).The Theatre of the Deaf, headquartered at Coltsville Heritage Park, is awaiting federal funds that should be available by January 1, 2001.The loan will be at 0% interest and drawn down on an as needed basis and to be repaid no later than March 31, 2001.(Item #28)

Housing Preservation Loan Fund -- On the recommendation of Deputy Mayor Francis Sanchez, the Council will consider a resolution which would designate $500,000 from the Housing Fund be made available to city residents who are presently ineligible to receive loans from the Housing Preservation Loan Fund because their incomes exceed federal guidelines.(Item #29)

City Services Satisfaction Survey –The Council will vote on a resolution authorizing City Manager Kee Borges to contract with Impact Strategies to conduct surveys to track changes in resident satisfaction with city services.The results of the survey would be used to develop a communications strategy related to the survey data.(Item #18)

New Corporation Counsel – The Council will receive a letter of resignation from Kevin Dubay, the city’s lawyer, and will vote on a resolution stating that it will make an appointment of the new Corporation Counsel from the pool of candidates interviewed on November 22.The names of the interviewees were not included on the resolution.(Items # 11and 30)
