There are 50 items on the regular agenda. The Council meeting will begin at 8 P. M.
at Hartford City Hall in Council Chambers and will be televised live on
Hartford Public Access, Channel 21. The
Council will meet on Tuesday rather than Monday because of the Columbus Day
holiday.
Sage Allen Property The Council will vote on a
resolution which would authorize the use of up to $750,000 of Urban Development
Grant Funds for site remediation, including cleanup costs, and hazardous waste
abatement of the former Sage Allen Property located downtown at 900 Main
Street. The city is exploring options for reuse of the building which has
environmental contaminant. (Item #3)
Northeast and
Southend Zone Strategic Plans
The Council will vote on two ordinances which would officially adopt the
Strategic Plans of the Northeast and the Southend Neighborhood Revitalization
Zones. Both items have been discussed
in the Planning, Economic Development, and Zoning Committee which is
recommending passage. Both ordinances
have also been to Public Hearing and
are on the agenda for action. (Items
#31 and 32)
Clay Arsenal and
Upper Albany Zone Strategic Plans The Council will send to Public Hearing October 15 and to committee,
two ordinances which would officially approving the Strategic Plans of the Clay
Arsenal and Upper Albany Neighborhood Revitalization Zones. (Items #38 and 39)
Curb Service Waiting Referral Period -- The Council
will vote on an ordinance which will establish a thirty-day referral period for
restaurants requesting a special permit for drive-in or curbside service. the referral period would allow more time
for review by the Commission on the City Plan. The Planning, Economic Development, and Zoning Committee is recommending
passage because drive-in or curb service can have substantial impact on
neighborhood districts. This ordinance
has been to Public Hearing and is on the agenda for action. (Item #29)
