Park Street Special Services District ­ The Council passed an ordinance that, if approved by owners of Park Street businesses, will create a special services district on Park Street from Main Street to Park Terrace. The special services district would have numerous powers including, but not limited to, borrowing money, holding property, providing services within the district, receiving donations, and operating promotional events.

Blue Hills Civic Association Strategic Plan ­ The Council referred to committee an ordinance which would officially approve the Strategic Plan of the Blue Hills Civic Association Neighborhood Revitalization Zone.

Hartford Parks Trust Fund ­ The Council passed two resolutions using Hartford Parks Trust Fund moneys. The first designates $500,000 to help restore the ponds at Keney, Pope, Goodwin, and Elizabeth Parks. The second designates $100,000 to be used to replace the roof at the Hyland Park recreation center.

Charter Revision Public Hearing ­ The Council passed a resolution which establishes May 13, 2002 at 7 P.M. as the last Public Hearing for the draft of charter changes recommended by the Charter Revision Commission.

Annual Budget Public Hearing ­ The Council passed a resolution which establishes Wednesday, April 24, 2002 as the Public Hearing for the annual budget. The public hearing will be held at Bulkeley High School and will begin at 6:30.
