There are 47 items on the regular agenda. The Council meeting will begin at 8 P. M.
at Hartford City Hall in Council Chambers and will be televised live on
Hartford Public Access, Channel 21.
Funds for Downtown Circulator Route – The Council
will vote on a resolution that would approve funding for the infrastructure of
a downtown circulator route. The
Capital Region Council of Governments has $794,000 to be used for the
project. The funds require a 20% match
by the city. The circulator route was recommended in the Greenburg study and
would connect points of interest in the downtown business district. (Item #4)
Smart Stream Financial System -- On the
recommendation of Councilperson John O’Connell, the Council will vote on a
resolution directing City Manager Kee Borges to complete a business analysis of
the city’s “Smart Stream” financial system. According to the resolution there have been problems with the
system. (Item #41)
Grandparent Task Force -- On the recommendation of
Councilperson Elizabeth Horton Sheff, the Council will vote on a resolution directing the City
Manager to identify properties and resources that could be used to create
affordable housing for grandparents raising their grandchildren. The city’s task force to explore the needs of
grandparents raising grandchildren has identified affordable housing as a
critical need. (Item #37)
Revocation of Minority Business Enterprise Certification
-- The Council will receive a communication from the Health and Human Services
Committee on its special meeting to discuss the eligibility status of Safe
Workers of America to qualify as a Minority Business Enterprise with the
city. The committee voted to support
City Manager Kee Borges’ decision to revoke Safe Workers of America’s
certification as a Minority Business Enterprise. (Item #17)
Bushnell Park Pump House – The Council will vote on a
resolution authorizing the City manger to enter into a lease agreement with
Vito’s by the Park to operate a food concession at the Pump House in Bushnell
Park for the Summer. (Item #1)
