Tax Assessment Fixing – The Council referred, to its Operations, Management, Budget & Legislative Affairs Committee, a resolution authorizing the City to fix the assessment on 40 units of housing constructed in the replacement of the old Dutch Point public housing project with new rental and ownership housing. The 40 units are reserved for purchase by low and moderate income buyers. In order to keep property taxes at a rate that continues to be affordable to the owners, the assessed value of the property will be set, for a period of 16 years, at an amount equal to the sales price less the sum of federal, state, and local public subsidies that have been provided to the buyer. Arreglo de Valoracion de Impuestos. El concejo referió, a Comité de Operaciones, Administración, Presupuesto y Asuntos Legislativos, una resolución autorizando a la ciudad el arreglar la valoración de 40 viviendas construidas en reemplazo del proyecto antiguo localizado en Dutch Point. Estas viviendas están reservadas para ser compradas por personas con ingresos bajos y medios. Para mantener los impuestos de las propiedades en una tasa que sea accesible para los dueños, el valor de la propiedad será fijado por 16 años y es igual al precio de venta menos la suma de subsidios federales, estatales y locales que han sido proporcionados al comprados. Donation of Fire Trucks – The Council passed two resolutions approving the donation of two fire trucks to two of Hartford’s Sister Cities: Mao, Dominican Republic, and Morant Bay, Jamaica. The trucks, which are 1985 Peter Pirsch Pumpers, are no longer in compliance with the standards of the National Fire Protection Association and, therefore, cannot be used by the Hartford Fire Department. The towns of Mao and Morant Bay will pay the costs of transporting the trucks. (Segarra) (Ítems #11 and 12)

El concejo aprobó dos resoluciónes aprobando la donación de dos camiones de bomberos a dos ciudades hermanas de Hartford: Mao, Republica Dominicana y Morant Bay, Jamaica. Los camiones que son modelos 1985 Peter Pirsch Pumpers, no cumplen los estándares de la Asociación Nacional de Protección contra el Fuego y, por ello, no pueden ser usados por el departamento de Bomberos de Hartford. Fueling Station – The Council referred, to its Planning & Economic Development Committee, the Planning & Zoning Commission, and public hearing, a resolution authorizing the sale of City-owned property, located at 126 and 130 New Park Avenue and 8 and 16 Francis Court, to Hayes Properties for $80,000. Hayes will construct a fueling station on the half-acre site which is adjacent to the Stop & Shop supermarket on New Park Avenue. The City acquired the properties in order to eliminate blight and stimulate economic development in the area. (Segarra) (Item #16)

Estacion de Gasolina: El consejo referió, a Comité de Planificación y Desarrollo Económico, a Comisión de Planificación y Zonificación, y a Audiencia Pública, a una resolucion autorizando la venta de una propiedad localizada en el 126-130 de la avenida New Park y en el 8-16 de Francis Court, a Hayes Properties por $80,000. Hayes construirá una gasolinera en la parcela de medio acre que esta cercana al supermercado Stop & Shop en la avenida New Park. Urban Action Grant – The Council adopted a resolution that authorizes the City to accept a $1.0 million Urban Action Grant from the Connecticut Department of Economic & Community Development (DECD). The grant will be used to develop the former Northwest Jones School, located at 1240 Albany Avenue, into the John E. Rogers African American Cultural Center. The City has leased the former school to the Center and individuals in the community have secured this grant and others for implementation of the project. The City has agreed to administer the DECD Grant on behalf of the Center. (Segarra) (Item #19)

El Concejo aprobó una resolucion que autoriza a la ciudad, el aceptar $1.0 millones en fondos para accion urbana de parte del Deparamento de Economia y Desarrollo comunitario del estado. Estos fondos serán usados para convertir la antigua escuela Northwest Jones, localizada en el 1240 de la Avenida Albany a el Centro Cultural Africano Americano John E. Rogers. 445 Zion Street – The Council adopted a resolution that authorizes the sale of 445 Zion Street, a vacant, severely blighted property with no parking, to the Mutual Housing Association of Greater Hartford (MHAGH) for $1,000. MHAGH will develop the property into 15 rental housing units affordable to low-income households. Ten of the units will be set aside for elderly individuals. Parking will be available to tenants on a lot already owned and managed by MHAGH behind 445 Zion Street. (Segarra) (Item #27)

El Concejo aprobó una resolucion que autorice la venta del 445 Calle Zion, un edificio vacante, sin parqueo y severamente dañado, al Mutual Housing Association of Greater Hartford (MHAGH) por $1,000.
